The Lantern Pageant, also referred to as Shangyuan Pageant, is a standard Chinese language competition celebrated on the fifteenth day of the primary lunar month, marking the top of the Chinese language New 12 months celebrations. In 2025, the Lantern Pageant will fall on February fifth.
The Lantern Pageant is a time for households and mates to return collectively and have fun. Folks hold lanterns of their properties and temples, and there are sometimes parades and fireworks shows. The competition can be a time to eat conventional Chinese language meals, similar to yuanxiao (glutinous rice balls) and tangyuan (candy dumplings).
